Area Sales Manager International
We bring our products to the big wide world, because the International Sales department is all about supporting and developing our international markets. What does that entail? The specific tasks that are part of our daily work include: acquiring new and maintaining existing customers, technical advice, product training courses, preparing quotations or participating in trade fairs.
As we are responsible for customers all over the world, our Area Sales Managers are sometimes referred to as “the travellers”. Not only does this sound adventurous, it actually is exciting! And that’s because many of us do not have a traditional 9-to-5 desk job, but regularly visit and support our customers around the globe, travelling from Canada to China.
So you can imagine: with us, you will meet a colourful team in which many different languages are spoken. We benefit from each other’s different strengths and perspectives and regularly exchange ideas in our “Buenos Dias Meetings”.
A little fun fact on the side: we also have exciting hobbies. For example, one colleague has a black belt in karate, while another used to be a singer in a hardcore rock band. One colleague actually came to us from the fashion industry. And what story do you bring along?
Get to know the department head
Hello Vitali!
How did you become a member of the WEICON team and how long have you been working here?
“From trainee to department head” could be the title of my very personal WEICON story. I have been accompanying the family business on its expansion course for a very long time – since 2003, to be precise. I have surpassed myself in the process: back then, I started out as a wholesale and foreign trade trainee, and today I head the International Sales department.
In a nutshell: what is it like to work at WEICON?
The familiar and fair interaction with each other as well as cool and exciting tasks in an international environment are reasons why I enjoy coming to work every day.
As a manager, what is especially important for you in your team?
There are many values that are important and necessary for the team to be successful. The most important things for me personally are independence, motivation and reliability. I expect these qualities not only from my employees, but also from myself.
What do you like most about your team?
Our team is made up of very different characters and points of view. Despite this, or perhaps precisely because of this, you will encounter an exceptionally creative team spirit that is bursting with ideas and places great value on solidarity among colleagues.
Is there anything else you would like to say to potential applicants?
Do you speak several languages but rarely use them in your everyday life? Do you enjoy working with people and have a talent for sales? Then you will fit in perfectly!
