The Cable Stripper No. S 4-28 Spiral is perfect for the precise, fast and safe stripping of all common round cables with a diameter between 4 and 28 millimetres. For cables that cannot be easily stripped using circular and longitudinal cuts, the tool has an additional feature – a spiral cut, which makes it possible to easily remove complex insulation. The rotatable inner blade can be used for circular, longitudinal and spiral cuts on both soft and hard cable insulation. The cutting depth can be comfortably and precisely adjusted in 0.1 mm increments from 0-3 millimetres using a lockable adjusting screw, which prevents damage to deeper layers. The cutting blade is self-rotating and integrated into the housing, allowing for quick automatic switching between circular and longitudinal cuts – only when using the spiral cut, the blade needs to be locked in place. To perform a spiral cut, the function is switched from circular to spiral cut using a setting wheel. Then, by flipping the spiral switch, the internal blade is locked in place, and the cable stripper is ready to make the spiral cut. To switch back to the circular cut, the lock must be released using the spiral switch. The blade will then move freely again, allowing you to carry out the circular cut as usual. After performing the spiral cut, it is advisable to make a small incision at the end of the insulation. It is then easier to peel it off. The tool is equipped with a retractable hook blade for this purpose. The self-retracting safety blade is operated via a slider and automatically retracts in the event of misuse to prevent cutting injuries. This makes the use of the blade much safer compared to fixed blades, such as those in cutter knives.
